The primary mission of the institute is to create the necessary conditions for providing high-quality and accessible education by preserving traditional classical systems while applying the latest educational technologies and innovations. We emphasize high-quality engineering and construction, alongside excellent design utilizing modern materials and building technologies.
History of the Institute
The Institute of Architecture and Construction is the progenitor of the Osh Technological University. To train civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, a general technical faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute was opened in Osh in 1963, offering evening classes. The first enrollment for the “Industrial and Civil Engineering” specialty took place in 1988 for full-time study, followed by correspondence courses in 1991.
In 1991, the Faculty of Engineering was established for engineering specialties. In 1996, it evolved into the Faculty of Engineering and Construction. In 2016, the faculty was renamed the Faculty of Architecture and Construction. Based on the decision of the Academic Council and by order of the Rector of OshTU (No. 09-04/404 dated July 2, 2024), the Faculty of Architecture and Construction was reorganized into the Institute of Architecture and Construction.
Since 1979, the institute has graduated over 5,000 highly qualified specialists who have worked and continue to work in various sectors of the national economy both within the Republic and abroad.
